Tea at the Mayflower

Sunday, October 9, 2011
Yesterday I went to the Mayflower Renaissance hotel for afternoon tea. It is suppose to be one of the most luxurious hotels in the DC area, and the hotel is famous for their afternoon tea.

I had the wild blackberry tea. :)
Although the aroma smelled exactly like blackberries, the taste was actually not very impressive. I've definitely had better tea in little Italy in NYC for a couple dollars.

The sweets itself were very typical too. I have no idea why the food their have such high ratings. The setting was definitely nice, but not worth the trouble of parking, money or having to make an reservation.

But over all, it was a fun experience! Did a little shopping at Burberry while getting back to my car.

I must say, it is really worth it to invest in a Burberry trench coat! They are just so pretty :)

Finch: Window Shopping.

Thursday, September 29, 2011

In the small town that I live in, window shopping is one of my favorite pass times. Finch Boutique is only a 5 minute drive/10minute walk from my dorm, and carries a wide variety of styles. The only downside to boutique or thrift store shopping is that, not every time you will be able to find that unique piece to go into your closet.

This sweatshirt looked comfy and cute on the rack, but on me, it is a bit bulky. I love the color and the material, if only the waist was a bit more narrow and the top being a tiny bit shorter.

Again, I always end up going to my over sized comfy type clothe. the color was simple and clean, the stripes was a classic. but even if a size S, it was just a little bit too big on me...

This cream colored top with lace detailing on the shoulder and along the back is gorgeous. I would have gotten it if it was a bit more longer and fitted. The silky material felt very nice against the skin, but unlucky me for having a long torso.

I will be looking out for more simple and elegant pieces to add to my closet on my next shopping trip! Stay tone for my haul on jeans!
